About Me
I spent my childhood in front of a camera held to my mother’s eye – she was always taking pictures, including this one of me with my grandmother when I was three. I love this image, this memory from before my memories. It, and others like it, allow me to access parts of my story that would otherwise be lost to me.
I am a photographer because I love to preserve memories and tell peoples’ stories. Let my photography tell your story.
Over the years I've photographed weddings, maternity sessions, newborns, and more — and I'm grateful for every one of them. Each taught me something that made me a better photographer. But along the way I discovered where my heart really is: in the unhurried moments of family life and the milestone of senior year. That's where I do my best work, and that's where I've chosen to focus.
Whether you want professional, lifestyle portraits of your family and children, desire to capture the beautiful chaos of your daily life with a family documentary session, or are celebrating the start of a next chapter with unique and meaningful senior portraits, let’s begin the conversation about how to capture this chapter of your story. Allow me to preserve these moments as photographs you'll treasure for years to come.
I grew up in Kalamazoo and currently live in Grand Rapids with my family, who are my favorite subjects — my children now spend their childhood in front of a camera held to their father's eye. For a look at some of my favorite images of my boys, see Our Life (under Personal Work).
